Paralelamente à sua exposição em Lisboa, Ricardo Jacinto mostra a instalação Les Voisins, apresentada no ano passado no Centre Culturel Gulbenkian em Paris, e agora adaptada aos espaços da Culturgest no Porto. À medida que percorremos a instalação, deparamos com diversos elementos (objectos, imagens, sons), formalmente muito diversos entre si, que semeiam indícios e tecem uma intriga cuja decifração está longe de ser linear. Como o título sugere, oferecendo algumas pistas de interpretação, é como se entrássemos num mundo paralelo, próximo (contíguo) mas ao mesmo tempo estranho, que permanece em grande medida insondável. Um mundo do qual estão ausentes aqueles que o habitam.

In parallel with his exhibition in Lisbon, Culturgest presents Ricardo Jacinto’s installation, Les Voisins, shown last year at the Centre Culturel Gulbenkian in Paris and now adapted to the spaces of Culturgest in Oporto. As we go through the installation we come across disparate elements (objects, images, sounds), formally very different from one another, which scatter signs and weave a plot whose decipherment is far from being linear. As the title suggests, offering a few clues, it is as if we have entered a parallel world, nearby (contiguous) but at the same time strange, which remains unfathomable to a large extent. A world from which those who inhabit it are absent.
