No final de Maio, artistas dos quatro cantos do mundo rumam a Portugal para ocupar vários palcos de Lisboa e Porto.
De 21 de Maio a 9 de Junho, o alkantara festival acolhe cerca de trinta performances de dança, teatro – e de tudo o que se encontra entre elas – de artistas oriundos da Argentina, Áustria, Canadá, Croácia, Suíça, Egipto, Estados Unidos, França, Portugal, Bélgica, Japão, China, Países Baixos, Brasil, Espanha, Hungria, Nova Zelândia, África do Sul, Dinamarca, Equador, Grécia, Itália, entre outros.
Trazem as suas histórias locais e globais, sobre o universal e o particular, o passado e o futuro, lendas de beleza e distúrbio num mundo em rápida mudança. Contudo, têm algo em comum: o desejo de entrar em diálogo com o espectador no esforço de compreender estes tempos desconcertantes e alcançar, talvez, algumas respostas; ou, mais provavelmente, reformular as nossas questões; ou, eventualmente, aumentar a confusão.
Vinte dias de performances inovadoras e estimulantes que irão desestabilizar as nossas perspectivas.
Na continuidade da parceria de edições anteriores, a Culturgest é um dos principais co-produtores do festival, apresentando vários espectáculos nos seus espaços.

At the end of May, artists from the 4 corners of the world will set sail for Portugal to enter the various stages of Lisbon and Porto.
From May 21 until June 9, the alkantara festival will host over 30 performances of dance, theater, and everything in between. The festival’s participating artists come from countries as diverse as Argentina, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Switzerland, Egypt, USA, France, Portugal, Belgium, Japan, China, the Netherlands, Brazil, Spain, Hungary, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, Ecuador, Greece, and Italy.
They will bring their stories of the local and of the global, of the universal and the particular, of the past and the future – tales of beauty and of confusion in a quickly changing world. But they will all have one thing in common: the desire to enter into a dialogue with the spectator, in an effort to understand these bewildering times. Perhaps, they will seek to grasp at some answers; more likely, they will reconstruct our questions; or, potentially, they will simply add to the confusion.
Twenty days of fresh, innovative, and titillating performances that promise to challenge our perspectives and push us to view the world from a different angle.
